Quality time with family. That's how I can best describe the last 3 weeks.
We really enjoyed spending time with my mother, step-father, sister and brother-in-law. We shared so many special moments: lots of time enjoying Daniel together, talking loads, going on nice outings, etc. Now our home feels so quiet and empty - I didn't realize how noisy my family is! :-)
Thank you maezinha, Stephen, Fafa and Juju for coming to visit us and the time that we shared together! We love you so much and are missing you already!
Have a look at the slide show below highlighting many of the wonderful moments we enjoyed:
It has been hard for Daniel getting to know new people so well and then seeing them go. Since my mother and step-father left this past Saturday, he continues to ask where "vovó and vovô" have gone. We have explained to him several times that we took them to the airport, said bye and that they flew on an airplane back to Portugal... Our explanation only satisfies him for a few minutes because soon after, he asks about them again. I can tell he is missing them very much...
We found out two interesting things about Daniel during this time: 1) He now takes longer to adjust to new people in our home, especially when there are many together and 2) He adjusts more quickly to men than women! He was definitely shy around all of them for the first few days but felt much more at ease with my step-father and brother-in-law than my mother and sister! Always learning new things about our dear boy wonder...
Bye for now loved ones!

Thanks so much for all the lovely pictures of your Christmas time, Daniel is looking so grown up! Look forward to spending some quality time with you all in the not too distant future!"
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you do this already Ana, but you should Skype with them! Marcus LOVES calling his 'moeke' (grandma) on the computer and I feel like when she comes back, the transition will be so easy because he sees her all the time on the computer! And it's free! I would highly recommend it! :)
