It has been so wonderful to see Daniel fall in love with his books! He now loves for us to read to him, listens carefully, points at pictures, imitates sounds of animals that we make, and even picks out the books that he would like to read! With this novelty in our home, we quickly realized that we didn't have anywhere nice to store his books and that they were just piling up on his bedroom floor and becoming very messy. So we ordered a special toddler bookshelf online and yesterday, Jonny put it together and Daniel loved it - both the building of it and the finished product! The bookshelf is just right for him in terms of height and easy access - with the books facing out for him to easily see and choose!
This is so special for us because we have been reading to him since he was a newborn and now, are finally seeing the results! It is so much fun! Thank you Lord for our boy wonder; what a blessing he is!
What a cute bookshelf! I've never heard of a toddler/baby bookcase like that. Can you email me where you got it? Did they have it in any colors other than white? It would be perfect for Mikey. Right now I just put them in a plastic bin but love the fact that with this one, they are all facing outward. Do the books slide into a little net type of thing?
ReplyDeleteAninha-Jonny, please,
ReplyDeleteCould we "hire" this carpenter assistant for few months to work with vozinho fofinho, here, in the house in Portugal? We saw that he is very diligent in supervising the worker performance! He even climbed on the bookshelf to make sure that all screws were in the proper place and everything was properly done.
In addition we loved to see him looking the books in the new place and reading the book attentively!
Our little prince is very special and brings so much joy to our lives!
We seriously want to "hire" this boy wonder to have him near us in Portugal...If the requirement is to "hire" the main workers to have this assistant, we do too!
Ha!Ha!Ha!
Thanks a lot for recording all these beautiful moments of Daniel's life to share with us!
Kisses from vozinha e vozinho in Portugal
Great to see boy wonder becoming a book worm, just like his Granny! I love to see him so fascinated with the making of the bookshelf! Great idea,
ReplyDeleteGood to see that Daniel has two grandfathers who were librarians! And he's obviously going to be an engineer like Uncle Julian - not many people can put together a self-assembly bookcase at any age, never mind one year old! Jonny must have been very relieved to have such expert advice! Well done, Daniel!
